The Twelve Days of Christmas — Day Two

Kelsey came downstairs ready to go to church on Christmas morning.

Although the tree had many gifts on and under it, we all bundled up and drove 40 minutes to attend the 10 AM service at Grace Reformed Church.

Amazingly sweet spirits came from little ones and their moms –none of whom had had much sleep during the night.

Since the heat had not been turned on at church, we listened to Pastor Bob’s sermon, “The Spirit of Christmas,” hurried home, and then changed back into our pj’s before we opened stockings.

All three girls had gray and green striped jammies with red lettering proclaiming “Santa’s Helper.”

Naturally, Santa Grandpa needed helpers. However, little helpers do better with naps, so after opening their stockings (actually bags) and eating mac and cheese and green beans for lunch, the helpers took naps!

What a happy Santa with all his helpers!

My prayer for you girls is that you will take after those Corinthians who took up a collection for those suffering in Jerusalem. The apostle Paul wrote to them:

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

2 Corinthians 9: 12-15
