Before the sun appeared over Winding Ridge, a stage whisper with a distinct southern drawl said, “Can I get in bed with you, Grandma?”
The sunshine invited us outdoors, so we all bundled up and headed for the Friendsville Community Park.
A new Barbie bike and and a pink scooter that had come on Christmas Day, needed trial runs….and we had the park to ourselves!
Cumbersome hats made seeing a bit of a challenge, but flying high on a swing gives all of life a God-ward perspective.
In her book Because He Loves You, Elyse Fitzpatrick says…
“My identity is that I am one who has been loved immeasurably by GOD and am one with Him.”
How I pray that you, Taylor Faith, will grasp that truth early in your life!
Also from Because He Loves You…
May you, Kelsey Ann, know this:
“A truth that must be pressed into our consciousness every moment of every day: ‘ I am a child of God.'”
And to the thoughtful Miss Austyn Grace, I pray that you may know the truth of Ephesians 5:1-2:
“Be imitators of God, therefore as dearly loved children and live a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice.”
As Grandpa tried to get a little snooze that afternoon, he had a bit of company in the bedroom.
Nothing spectacular going on? Just a simple expression of love!
“The Gospel declarations the Lord has made are meant to free us from our never-ending craving for more. Because He has made us His own and given us everything in Christ, we have something better: A God who delights in drawing near to us, exalting us, and granting us grace.” (Because He Loves Me)
