When we travel to see our sons, we either go to Georgia, near Savannah, or head to Aiea, near Honolulu. Understand one true wonder: God blessed us with two amazing daughters-in-law whom I refer to as daughters-in-love, who actually invite us to come and stay with them for two or three-week vacations!
You read that correctly! We live there with them for extended visits and they invite us back! Truly a wonder and a blessing.
When we recently spent 22 days in Hawaii, we flew to the island of Kauai and took in some of the breath-taking scenery at Waimea Canyon. With all the rain the island had received, the waterfalls thundered, cascading tons of water into the valleys below.
Psalm 29:3 declares, “The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.”
Kelsey, despite the spitting raindrops and whipping winds, clapped her hands in appreciation of the wonder all around us.
Again I whisper, “Don’t let me lose my wonder, Lord.”
“Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Psalm 32:6-7
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though the waters roar and foam, and the mountains quake with their surging.”
So we marvel at the Lord’s handiwork here on this tiny island. The Creator-Sustainer revives my soul again.
I pray in Little One’s ear.”May you hear His voice when He whispers your name above the noises of the culture around you. Sense His wonder; follow His voice; give Him your heart.”
